Welcome

Hello! My name is Jaime Slavin, and I am a Registered Dietitian. I completed my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food at Ryerson University, where I received my Bachelors of Applied Science. After my undergrad, I went on to get my Masters of Public Health (MPH) specializing in Community Nutrition at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at U of T.  During my Masters program, I also completed three internships and met all my competencies that prepared me to write the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam (CDRE). Upon passing the CDRE, I became a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. I have been practicing as a Dietitian since 2014, and work in the areas of private practice, community health, nutrition media, and research

My food choices are pretty simple: I enjoy whole, healthy, and minimally processed foods. I always aim for a plethora of colourful vegetables and fruits (raw and cooked), whole grains, legumes, healthy fats, and sustainably sourced fish, eggs and poultry. My day does not feel complete without some good quality dark chocolate and lots of herbal teas!

Similar to my food choices, my nutrition tips are all about choosing healthy, wholesome, minimally processed, fresh, good quality foods. The more healthy options you choose in your day, the more your palette and body will want to eat these foods. It's all about variety and enjoying what you eat in order for you to feel happy and healthy while making nutritious food decisions.

When it comes to my practice and the personalized approach I take with my patients/clients, I always make sure to get an in-depth health history and dietary assessment. This information allows me to provide you with nutrition tips and guidance on food choices in order for you to meet your health needs and achieve your goals.
